Ir. Reif has always had control and management of the "Mother
firm" at Bradford, and directs from there the Branches in the Far East.
MT. Bume was at the head of the Hamburg Branch.
All the accounts from all the Branches have always been and are
being rendered to the Bradford firm, where also the Balance Sheet 18 and
has always been - drawn up.
The business of the firm is that of
Exporters. The turnover of the business in Bradford is approximately
£200,000 per annum - solely in textile goods and a considerable number
of workpeople are employed in tae Bradford warehouse.
The Banking account of the firm is kept with the Union of
London & Smith's Bank Ltd. at their Bradford Branch, and the firm have
extensive Banking transactions with The Hongkong & Shanghai Banking Corporation, The National Bank of India Limited, and the Chartered Bank of
India, Australia & China.
Immediately at the outbreak of war Mr. Reif cosulted us as to the status of the firm and the possible consequences, and asked our advice an to the stepa if any he ought to take to assure the smooth working of
the Bradford business and its dependent Branches outside Hamburg.

It was donesived that by the outbreak of war the partnership
between the members of the firm could not lawfully continue, and by the nature of the conditions prevailing it would in any case be impracticable, and had to come to an end. Kr. Reif, as a matter of fact, has treated
